Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey Makers Unveil Peter Pans Neverland Nightmare F

August 2024 · 4 minute read

In this first look from “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare” — from the makers of slasher horror hit “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” — Martin Portlock plays an evil, murderous and disfigured version of the children’s character.

The Jagged Edge Productions film — being sold by ITN Studios in Cannes — follows Wendy Darling as she strikes out in an attempt to rescue her brother Michael from “the clutches of the evil Peter Pan.” Along the way she meets Tinkerbell, who in this twisted version of the story will be seen taking heroine, convinced that it’s pixie dust. Scott Chambers writes and directs while Rhys Frake-Waterfield, who directed “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey,” produces.

Currently shooting in the U.K. with an expected theatrical release this Halloween, “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare” is one of a number of standalone titles from Jagged Edge’s Twisted Childhood Universe, its own low budget and slasher version of the MCU.

Earlier in the week, Variety revealed details of ‘Pinocchio: Unstrung,” set to be an “extremely unique and R-rated depiction of Pinocchio” according to director Frake-Waterfield, while “Bambi: The Reckoning” (in which the innocent deer is turned into a revenge-seeking killing machine) is also due out this year. In 2025, filming is due to start on “Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble,” an “Avengers: Infinity War”-style crossover feature bringing together Pooh, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Bambi, Tinkerbell and various other beloved children’s characters gone bad.
