Simmons who was unaware she and co-anchor Chuck Scarborough were doing the promo segment for the 11 pm news live used the obscenity apparently because the wrong news footage was being shown while she was teasing a story on rising supermarket prices. Looking genuinely pained, Simmons apologized during the following broadcast for "using a word many find offensive." She didn't appear to receive any further discipline from the NBC affiliate.
